How to Destroy Nephilim Through Unity: Confronting the Spirit of Lust and Division
“In ancient days, fallen angels descended from Mount Hermon, drawn by their lust for women. Today, this same spirit of lust slips into churches and families, causing division and spiritual giants to rise. What can we do about it?”
Together let’s highlight the parallels between the fallen angels in Genesis 6, the warnings in Jude, and the divisions caused by unchecked lust masquerading as love.
Unity among true believers, grounded in truth and holiness, has the power to destroy the modern “Nephilim” born of lust and division.
“Have you seen division caused by hidden sin in your community? How can you contend for unity in your church?”
The Fallen Angels of Mount Hermon: A Spirit of Lust and Rebellion
The Story of Genesis 6
In Genesis 6:1-4, we read about a time when the “sons of God”—fallen angels—descended upon the earth. They saw the beauty of human women and were overcome with lust, taking for themselves wives from among them. This unholy union led to the birth of the Nephilim, giants that terrorized the earth.
“When lust overcame these angels, it led to rebellion against God and the creation of the Nephilim giants.”
This same spirit of rebellion is called out in the Book of
“And angels who did not keep their own domain but abandoned their proper dwelling place, He has kept in eternal restraints under darkness for the judgment of the great day.”
Jude highlights that these angels, much like rebellious men today, left their rightful place to pursue desires that were forbidden. The same fallen angel spirit is alive in the modern Church, creeping in unnoticed. It operates through individuals who justify sin under the guise of grace, turning God’s mercy into a license for unbridled lust.
warns us:
“For certain persons have crept in unnoticed… ungodly persons who turn the grace of our God into indecent behavior and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.”
Adultery, whether physical or of the heart, is men acting like fallen angels—calling evil “grace” while tearing apart families, churches, and communities. Jesus Himself exposes this in
“But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.”
The rebellion seen in Genesis 6 mirrors the rebellion of ungodly men today. They twist God’s truth to satisfy their sinful desires, creating division and empowering spiritual giants—strongholds of darkness that rise against the true Church.
Symbolism of Mount Hermon and Psalm 133
Mount Hermon, where the fallen angels descended, holds deep spiritual significance. In Psalm 133:3, the psalmist paints a beautiful picture of unity among God’s people:
“It is like the dew of Hermon coming down upon the mountains of Zion; for there the Lord commanded the blessing—life forever.”
The dew of Mount Hermon symbolizes God’s refreshing blessing that flows where there is unity. Just as dew nourishes and revives the land, unity in the body of Christ allows God’s power and life to flow freely.
But when lust and rebellion take root—when sin goes unaddressed—it brings division. Division cuts off God’s blessing, like dry, parched ground where no dew can fall. Instead of harmony, there is strife. Instead of love, there is betrayal. The spirit that once descended on Mount Hermon now seeks to infiltrate churches and families, robbing us of the unity that God desires.
We cannot ignore the dangers of unaddressed sin. Left unchecked, it empowers spiritual giants to rise, bringing oppression and darkness. True unity among believers, grounded in holiness and truth, destroys these giants and restores the blessing of God.

The Spirit of the Fallen Angels in Modern Times
Lust in the Dark
The lust that led the fallen angels to descend in Genesis 6:2 is the same lust at work in the hearts of many today. It begins in darkness—hidden, secret, and unchecked. In modern times, men often engage in relationships they shouldn’t, not just physically but in their hearts. Jesus directly confronts this in Matthew 5:28.
Secret sin doesn’t stay secret for long. It breeds division, just as it did in Genesis 6. Families break, trust shatters, and churches suffer spiritual decay. What begins as a hidden desire becomes a spiritual stronghold—a “giant” of sin—that divides and weakens the body of Christ.
The same spirit that caused the angels to rebel against God now tempts men into compromise and rebellion under the guise of love. But it’s not love. It’s lust wrapped in deception.
Turning Grace into Lust: Jude’s Warning
Jude gives a sobering warning in Jude 1:4. Jude does not mince words—these people have slipped into the Church unnoticed. They abuse God’s grace as a license to indulge in sin, calling lust “love” and rebellion “freedom.” But Jude doesn’t stop there. He uses the fallen angels as a direct comparison to these individuals in Jude 1:6
Like the fallen angels, these false believers have left the boundaries of God’s design. They defile their bodies, twist Scripture, and divide the Church with their rebellion. The result? Spiritual darkness, disunity, and the empowerment of strongholds that hold the Church captive.
But make no mistake—these individuals operate under the same rebellious spirit as the fallen angels, and their end is certain. Jude declares that “deepest darkness has been reserved forever” for them. There is no excuse, and there is no justification for unbridled lust masked as grace.
It’s time for the body of Christ to wake up. Hidden sin must be exposed, and false believers must be confronted. Unity cannot exist where rebellion is tolerated. We must stand firm in truth, call sin what it is, and fight for the holiness of God’s people.
Division: The Work of the Enemy
The Strategy of the Enemy
The enemy’s strategy hasn’t changed since the days of Genesis 6—lust and sin create spiritual giants that intimidate, oppress, and divide God’s people. These giants, much like the Nephilim, are spiritual strongholds formed when sin goes unchecked. They create fear, shame, and division within families, congregations, and communities.
Division is one of the most effective tools the enemy uses to rob the Church of its power and blessings. Psalm 133:3 reminds us of God’s desire for unity:
“It is like the dew of Hermon coming down upon the mountains of Zion; for there the Lord commanded the blessing—life forever.”
God commands His blessing where there is unity. But when lust, sin, and rebellion take root, they act like poison, tearing apart relationships and suffocating the flow of God’s life and power. What was meant to be a place of peace and spiritual growth becomes a battlefield filled with suspicion, mistrust, and spiritual decay.
The Cost of Division
Unchecked sin spreads like poison. It doesn’t just impact one person; it seeps into the entire congregation, breaking trust, hardening hearts, and diminishing the presence of the Holy Spirit. The love that once united believers grows cold. Power diminishes. Joy fades.
Jude identifies those responsible for this division in Jude 1:19:
“These are the ones who cause divisions, worldly-minded, devoid of the Spirit.”
These individuals are not led by the Holy Spirit. They are led by their own desires, operating under the same rebellious spirit as the fallen angels. They creep into the Church unnoticed, spreading gossip, lust, and rebellion while dividing the very people they claim to love.
The cost of division is steep. It weakens the body of Christ, rendering us ineffective against the works of darkness. The enemy knows that a divided Church is a powerless Church, which is why we must guard against sin and stand firm in unity.
Judging the Fallen Angel Spirit: A Call to Action
Jude’s Command to Contend for the Faith
The Book of Jude issues a powerful call to believers in Jude 1:3:
“I felt the necessity to write to you appealing that you contend earnestly for the faith that was once for all time handed down to the saints.”
This is not a suggestion; it’s a command. Contending for the faith means standing firm against sin and deception, protecting the Church from spiritual death and division. Judging ungodly behavior is not legalism—it’s an act of love. When sin goes unchecked, it poisons relationships, empowers the enemy, and grieves the Holy Spirit. True believers must take a stand, even when it’s uncomfortable.
How to Judge Righteously
Jesus gives clear instructions for righteous judgment in John 7:24:
“Do not judge by the outward appearance, but judge with righteous judgment.”
This kind of judgment is not harsh or self-righteous; it’s discerning, holy, and restorative. It seeks to protect unity and holiness in the Church. Here’s how believers can judge righteously:
- Expose Sin and Call People to Repentance
Hidden sin thrives in darkness, and darkness creates division. Ephesians 5:11 tells us:“Do not participate in the useless deeds of darkness, but instead even expose them.”
Sin must be brought to light so repentance and restoration can occur. - Reject Those Who Refuse Correction and Cause Division
Not everyone will accept correction. The Bible warns us about this in Titus 3:10:“Reject a divisive person after a first and second warning.”
Those who refuse to repent and continue to cause division must be removed for the sake of the Church’s health and unity. - Protect the Unity and Holiness of the Church
Unity is powerful, but it cannot coexist with rebellion and sin. God’s blessing flows when His people are united in holiness, as seen in Psalm 133:1:“Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brothers to live together in unity!”
It’s time to take a stand. As believers, we must contend for the faith, expose sin, and guard the body of Christ against division. The fallen angel spirit thrives where compromise is tolerated, but it loses power when truth and righteousness prevail.
Unity: The Key to Defeating Modern Nephilim
Unity Releases God’s Blessing
Unity is one of the most powerful forces in the Kingdom of God. When believers walk in unity, God’s blessing and power flow freely, just as described in Psalm 133:3:
The dew of Mount Hermon symbolizes refreshing, life-giving blessings that nourish and sustain. In the same way, when the Church unites in holiness and truth, God’s Spirit flows like living water, bringing strength, revival, and victory. True unity destroys giants—whether they are spiritual strongholds, sin that divides, or darkness that oppresses.
But this unity is not superficial. It’s not about ignoring sin for the sake of “peace.” It’s about standing firm together in truth and righteousness so that the blessings of God can flow unhindered.
Power in Unity to Defeat Giants
In Numbers 13:30-33, Caleb and Joshua encouraged the Israelites to take possession of the Promised Land, even when others were intimidated by the giants that stood in their way:
“Then Caleb quieted the people before Moses and said, ‘We should by all means go up and take possession of it, for we will certainly prevail over it.’”
While others saw the giants as undefeatable, Caleb and Joshua knew that the power of God, combined with unity and faith, would lead to victory. The same principle applies today. Spiritual giants—sin, rebellion, and division—stand in opposition to the Church, but when believers unite in truth, holiness, and love, these giants lose their power.
Disunity weakens us. Unity empowers us. The enemy knows this, which is why he works so hard to sow division through secret sin, pride, and rebellion. But as the body of Christ stands together in obedience to God, these giants will fall.
“True unity destroys giants, whether they are spiritual strongholds or sin that creates division.”
A Call to Unite
It’s time for the Church to stop fighting each other and start fighting the real enemy. When we come together in prayer, repentance, and holiness, we release the power of God to dismantle the works of darkness. Unity is not optional—it’s essential.
Let us stand firm as one body, refusing to let sin, pride, or division tear us apart. Together, in the name of Jesus, we will see spiritual giants defeated, darkness driven back, and God’s blessing poured out upon His people.
Destroy the Giants and Take Back the Land
Final Exhortation
The time for compromise is over. As believers, we must reject the spirit of lust, division, and rebellion that seeks to destroy the unity and holiness of the Church. This is not just about identifying sin—it’s about taking action. It’s about standing firm in Christ, refusing to allow these spiritual giants to rob us of our calling.
Paul reminds us in Ephesians 6:12:
“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.”
We are in a spiritual battle. The giants may look intimidating, but they have no power against a unified, holy Church standing in the authority of Jesus Christ. Reject sin. Expose darkness. Embrace unity. It’s time to contend for a holy, powerful Church that reflects the glory of God.
Declaration of Victory
Let’s stand together in faith, proclaiming victory over the enemy:
“In the name of Jesus, we destroy the spirit of lust and division. We stand united as the body of Christ, empowered to defeat every giant and take back the territory stolen by the enemy!”
The giants of sin, rebellion, and division will fall. Unity will rise. God’s blessing will flow like the dew of Mount Hermon, and His power will be revealed through a Church that stands together in holiness and truth.
It’s time to take back the land. The victory belongs to Jesus, and we walk in that victory today.
